Give to your community and make a profit - in style

Event Information

Seattle, Washington

Smartie Pants is putting on a three day women’s community consignment event in a beautiful Seattle loft where all unsold items will be donated to local charities and we want you to be a part of it.

A bit about Smartie Pants...two girlfriends opened their home and started a clothes swap!  We wanted new quality clothes and accessories, but we didn’t want to pay retail, so we thought why not trade with our girlfriends?  The event was a smashing success.  Because of the success we decided to take it bigger and start Smartie Pants—a community consignment event.  We held our first event in June 2009 with much success and received great reviews from the press, participants, and our community.

We believe you can be smart and beautiful.  We love a good deal, but we also love the idea of recycling, giving to the community and especially love the idea of creating a ripple in our community.  In our March event, we donated thousands of clothing items to our partner charities.

We hope to see you and all your girlfriends at our upcoming event!

Important Event Details: Coming Soon

How it Works

Our event, gives you the opportunity to sell your gently used women's and men's clothing and accessories and receive up to 70% of your selling price. Get paid to clean out your closets and make money.  Signing up to sell your items has never been easier with our easy process.

We are offering two packages:

  • Package A: You tag and price your items and you make 70% profit. You do the work and you make more profit!
  • Package B: We tag and price your items and you make 50% profit. No time to tag, price and hang your items? You can sign-up for this full-service package. Contact us and we can arrange a time to meet and take care of it for you. We must have your items one week prior to event.

Note: To respect our consignees, no discounts will be given, the price listed is the sell price (except for Sunday).  There will be dressing rooms provided.  All high end merchandise will be monitored.

As a consignee, you are invited to attend the Presale Event along with a friend and shop before the public.
Consignees that are donating items not sold, will be charged a minimal participation fee of $20.00.  Consignees that choose not to have unsold items donated, will be charged a $40.00 participation fee.  Registration fee is used for production, event marketing and facility costs.

Please make check payable to Smartie Pants: 28218 241st Ave. SE, Maple Valley, WA.  98038

Seller Registration

Now that you know how this works, are you ready to register for this exciting event? All you need to do is send us the registration form to Smartie Pants.  You will be contacted once we receive your registration form.  We are looking forward having you be a part of this event.

Prepare Your Items

Remember, the better your clothes and accessories look, the better they will sell! Please check for stains, broken zippers, torn hemlines, etc. We reserve the right to turn away any items that are not in good condition and will do so at check in. Please bring all items properly hung on hangers. Please no undergarments.

Thank you for bringing your best merchandise, we want to provide the best quality merchandise so please bring the items you would be proud to sell.  All items will be checked in and any non-accepted items will be sent home with the seller.  These are some of the example items that we accept:  all women's clothing (including maternity clothes but no under garment), handbags, shoes, any kind of accessories, and jewelry.  No children clothes accepted at this time.

Tagging

With Package A we will provide a pre-printed sheet labels with your seller ID # already included. Please only use the provided labels for tagging.

Here is our recommendation for tagging:

  • Type or write the price and size for each of your items.
  • We recommend that you print the labels on a thicker stock type of paper. No stickers or sticky labels.
  • Cut each label out. Please do not use sticker labels, they are not guaranteed to stay on the garments.
  • Please secure price tags on the "tag where the size is printed."  We recommend that you staple your tags to clothing items.  For accessories, put a small hole in the tag and use string or floss to tie it around the item.
  • Make sure all your tags are secure. We make every effort to properly handle, display and care for your items placed in the sale. However, items do get removed from their original packaging and tags fall off. Remember, many shoppers will be handling your items. Please bring items packaged/hung correctly and with your tags securely attached.

Seller Inventory form is provided with your registration formPlease use this form while you tag your items.  This inventory form will help you stay organized, allow your check-in to go faster and will help us to accurately pay you at the end of the event.

Guideline for pricing items:
Our recommendation is to price designer items at 50% off and for everyday clothing our recommendation is to mark them at 60%-70% off full retail price.  If your price base is too high, your overall percentage of items sold will reflect this.

Drop Off

With the overwhelming number of consignees, we are providing multiple drop off times; Thursday from 5pm to 8pm and Friday from 12pm – 4pm.  Plan accordingly and allow plenty of time for us to place your items on the sale floor.

During the drop off, please make sure to bring your items along with your seller inventory form.  Please bring two copies.  We will have volunteers to direct you once you arrive.

Parking is available in the McHugh Building (underground and next to the building) as well as directly across the street.

Pick Up

Sunday  from 4:00pm - 7:00pm
If you are not donating unsold items, you will need to pick up your items no later than 7:00pm or all items will be donated.  No exception as we have scheduled charity pick-ups immediately following our event.
